Date of News Release: 07/28/2011
(Morehead, Ky.) -- On July 25, 2011 at approximately 2:12 a.m., Kentucky State Police in Morehead received an anonymous tip that Damion Charlton was at the Valero gas station on KY 57 in Lewis County. Charlton was being sought for an assault at 4269 West KY 10 in Lewis County, a shared residence between Charlton and Ferdinando Carbone. Troopers Eugene Robinson and Chad Bowling responded to the area, while Lewis County EMS and Lewis County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene. After a brief search, Charlton was located with his girlfriend, Heather Dipaolo walking along the railroad tracks in Mason County. Trooper Robinson had determined that earlier in the evening, Damion Charlton and his Uncle, Ferdinando Carbone were in a physical altercation resulting in a life threatening injury to Carbone. Carbone was transported via Air-Evac to the University of Cincinnati ICU where he is listed in critical condition. Damion Charlton was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and is currently lodged at the Lewis County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation by Trooper Eugene Robinson.
