Two injured a single car collision on I-64

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On June 18, 2011, at 4:05 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead received multiple 911 calls regarding a single vehicle injury accident on the Bath and Montgomery county line on Interstate 64. Nena Thomas was traveling westbound in the left lane. She attempted to change lanes. Her vehicle began to shake and Ms. Thomas attempted to apply the brakes causing the vehicle to veer off the right shoulder of the roadway striking a road sign. The vehicle struck an embankment before coming to final rest off the right shoulder of Interstate 64. Nena Thomas and passenger, William Thomas, were transported to Saint Joseph East in Mount Sterling for treatment. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Nathan Shortridge.
