Date of News Release: 06/10/2011
(Morehead, Ky.) -- On June 9th, 2011 at 2228 Hours, Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call from Wolfe County Dispatch in reference to a fatal accident that occurred on KY15 in Wolfe County. KSP-CVE Officer Dennis Johnson, and Trooper Charles A Bowling, responded to the scene. Wolfe County Sheriff's Department assisted with the accident. Glennon Begley was operating a 1996 Toyota Camry Southbound on KY15, 2.4 miles out of Campton, when he drove off the roadway into an embankment causing his vehicle to go airborne. His vehicle then landed on on its top and skidded across both lanes of traffic coming to a final rest in a ditch on the northbound side of the roadway. Although both airbags deployed, Mr. Begley was not wearing his seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. Mr. Begley was pronounced deceased on the scene by Deputy Coroner Gary Sparks at 2305 Hours. Next of kin was notified by KSP-CVE Officer Dennis Johnson. Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the accident. The accident remains under investigation by KSP-CVE Officer Dennis Johnson.
