Injury collision on Logan Hollow Road in Rowan County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On June 3, 2011 at 12:21 p.m. Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call for service from Morehead Dispatch of an injury accident on Logan Hollow Road in Rowan County. William Sanders, 19 of Morehead, was operating a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder west bound on Logan Hollow Road when he struck a 2004 Honda Motorcycle operated by John Stong, 19 of Morehead. Mr. Sanders was traveling on the wrong side of the road and struck the motorcycle on the left side. Mr. Strong tried to avoid the collision and veered off the right shoulder of the roadway with the motorcycle coming to final rest on his leg. Passengers in the Pathfinder lifted the motorcycle off of Mr. Stong, who then left the scene along with all other parties involved. Mr. Stong was transported to St. Claire Medical Center by private vehicle with injuries to his right ankle William Sanders was located and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Mr. Sanders has been lodged at the Rowan County Detention Center. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Jay Cottrell, Kentucky State Police Morehead.
