Four injured a two vehicle collision on KY 36

(Morehead, Ky.) -- At 4:28 p.m. Kentucky State Police Morehead was notified by Menifee County dispatch of a two vehicle injury accident on KY 36 in Menifee County. Jimmy Beverly was traveling eastbound on KY 36 in a 1999 Toyota pickup when he attempted to turn into a driveway of a residence. A 17 year old juvenile male was traveling westbound on KY 36 operating a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu and observed Mr. Beverly turning into the residence. The juvenile driver attempted to stop his vehicle to avoid hitting Mr. Beverly, but was unable to stop. The juvenile's vehicle veered into the eastbound lane striking Mr. Beverly's vehicle head on. Mr. Beverly, passengers Danny and Jimmy King were all transported to St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, KY with non life-threatening injuries. Passenger Harold Howard refused treatment at the scene. The juvenile driver of the Malibu and passenger Tamara Smallwood refused medical treatment at the scene. A second passenger, Larry Risner, was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Scott Ferrell, Kentucky State Police Morehead.
