One injured in a single vehicle collision on Cranston Road

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On June 1st, 2011 at 2014 hours, Kentucky State Police, Morehead received a call from Rowan County Dispatch in reference to a single vehicle injury accident, approximately 9 miles up on Cranston Road. Trooper Keith Howard and Trooper Jay Cottrell responded to the scene. Jeffery Mineer was operating a 1987 Chevrolet S-10 North on Cranston Road in Morehead, when he dropped off the right side of the roadway. Mr. Mineer overcorrected swerving off the left side of the road, the vehicle continued on through a field over a creek, where he struck a telephone pole causing the vehicle to overturn. Mr. Mineer was extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means by the Cranston Fire Department, he was then airlifted from the scene by PHI and transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center, where is his listed in critical condition. After contacting the registered owner of the vehicle, it was discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from her property. Accident remains under investigation by Trooper Keith Howard.
