Felony arrest in Montgomery County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On May 26, 2011, at 7:55 PM, Trooper Daniel Armstrong was conducting a traffic stop on Old Owingsville Road, approximately two miles from Mount Sterling. Trooper Armstrong discovered passenger James A. Daugherty had four warrants for his arrest out of Montgomery County. Trooper Armstrong transported Mr. Daugherty to the Montgomery County Detention Center where he was lodged. Mr. Daugherty was charged with Resisting Arrest, Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree on Foot, Execution of Warrant for Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance, 1st Offense (two Counts), and Execution of Warrant for Public Intoxication-Control Substance (Excludes Alcohol) (Two Counts). Case remains under investigation by Trooper Daniel Armstrong.
