Date of News Release: 05/21/2011

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On May 20, 2011, at 3:19 PM, Kentucky State Police, Morehead received a call of a single vehicle accident. Trooper Anthony Bowling, Sergeant Anthony Fannin, Wolfe County Sheriffs Office, and Wolfe County Search and Rescue responded to the scene of a vehicle in a pond off of Rose Bend Road in Bethany, KY. The vehicle was located and removed from the water. One female occupant, Myranda Rose, 19, of Campton, KY was found deceased inside the vehicle. Evidence at the scene indicated that Ms. Rose was traveling east on Rose Bend Road when her tires dropped off the roadway on the left hand side. The vehicle appears to have crossed the road, crashed through a fence, and traveled down a hill into the pond below, where it came to final rest. No other occupants were located in or around the vehicle, and there is no indication that anyone else was in the vehicle at the time of the collision. Foul play is not suspected at this time. Next of kin were notified by Segreant Fannin and Trooper Bowling. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Bowling.
