Fleming County Murder Arrest

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On May 10, 2011, the Kentucky State Police at Morehead announce the arrest three men in connection with a 2005 Fleming County double homicide. Jason S. Jackson, 33, Rodney "Dewayne" Dotson, 36, and Rodney C. Fairchild, 43, were arrested in Greene County, Ohio, after a joint investigation with the Fleming County (Kentucky) Sheriff's Department, the Greene County Sheriff's Department, the Xenia (Ohio) Police Department, and the West Carrolton (Ohio) Police Department. The three men were arrested without incident and are lodged in the Greene County (Ohio) and Montgomery County (Ohio) Detention Centers; each man was charged with Murder for the 2005 shooting deaths of Donald Walker and Marlane Mauk on Goddard Road in Fleming County. Mr. Jackson was also charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence for his role in the deaths. The case remains under investigation and additional charges may be brought forth pending the submission of the case to a Fleming County Grand Jury.
Additionally, the Kentucky State Police is pleased to announce that although not as a result of a tip to the KSP Tip Line, the Walker-Mauk case is the first case to be solved that is part of the Kentucky Unsolved Cases Playing Card Initiative. The case was featured as the "9 of Hearts" in the decks of playing cards distributed late last year and early this year.
