Felony Arrest in Morgan County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- Trooper Chris Jones attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 1986 GMC Pickup, Operated by James Arthur, of Louisa KY; however, a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit began on KY 519 at Clack Mountain and ultimately ended on Black Water Road, in Morgan County. Arthur was charged with numerous offenses resulting from the pursuit, including Fleeing or Evading Police 1ST Degree (Motor Vehicle), Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. .08 2nd Offense, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Reckless Driving, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, Speeding 15 MPH Over Limit and Fugitive From Another State. Additionally, it was discovered that Arthur was a fugitive out of West Virginia, on charges of Armed Robbery, Burglary, Malicious Wounding, and Battery. He was lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center.
Trooper Jones was assisted by several KSP units, as well as members of the Rowan and Morgan County Sheriff’s Departments. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Chris Jones.
