KSP Request Public Assistance in Copper Thefts

(Berea, KY)- The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is requesting the public's assistance in identifying individuals who have been stealing wires from buildings in the area. These particular thefts have occurred during night time hours and the perpetrators may have use a utility type vehicle capable of lifting a person high enough into the air to cut the wires. Information received during the investigation of the latest theft indicated a boom type truck was in the area. No description was given for the vehicle.

KSP requests anyone who sees this type of vehicle during hours that would not be considered normal work hours or other suspicious circumstances to contact their local law enforcement or the Kentucky State Police at 800-222-5555. Provide a description of the vehicle with the license plate number if it is clearly visible.

Trooper Toby Coyle is investigating several of the thefts.
