KSP investigate the shooting of two dogs in Boyle County

(Danville, Ky.) -- On September 20, 2011 at 3:09 PM EST the Kentucky State Police Richmond Post was dispatched to investigate an animal cruelty complaint. Billy Reed of Danville called to report someone had shot his two dogs with arrows. Trooper Wren responded to the scene and found an Australian Sheppard and a Doberman Pinscher, which were located in a pen on the caller's property, had been shot in the head.

Evidence has been collected and will be processed for the recovery of latent prints or for other information as to the identity of the perpetrator.

The animals were taken to a local veterinarian but the status of their health is unknown.

The investigation is being conducted by Trooper Wren. Anyone with information concerning this crime is urged to contact the Kentucky State Police at 859-623-2404.
