KSP Arrests Jail Escapee in Estill County

Nekea Rose

(Irvine, Ky.) -- On Thursday, August 18, 2011, at approximately 10:00 AM EDT Tpr. Scott Felder of the Kentucky State Police Richmond Post along with deputies from the Estill County Sheriff's Office arrested Nekea Rose, 29 of Beattyville. Rose had escaped custody from the Estill County Jail on August 16, 2011.

Rose was located at a residence on New Fox Road in the Hargett Community of Estill County. Officers found Rose hiding in a bedroom. Rose refused to comply with Officers instructions, at which time Tpr. Felder deployed his TASER. Rose then became complaint and was taken into custody without further incident.

Rose is charged with Escape 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest. Rose also was served a Probation Violation Warrant from Lee Circuit Court.

Rose has been returned to the Estill County Jail. The investigation into the incident is continuing by the Tpr. Scott Felder.

Estill County Escapee

(Estill, Ky.)- The Kentucky State Police Post 7 Richmond is investigating the escape of an inmate from the Estill County Jail.

Nekea Rose, 29 of Beattyville was incarcerated for Burglary 1st degree in Estill County.

Rose managed to escape custody at approximately 8:55 p.m. on August 16. 2011. Rose will be charged with Escape 2nd Degree once he is returned to custody. Rose also has an outstanding warrant for Probation Violation from Lee Circuit Court after failing a drug test and being behind on his court ordered restitution. Rose pled guilty to Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft by Unlawful taking in May of 2008.

Rose was last seen wearing gray jogging pants and a white tank top shirt.
