Madison County death investigation

(Lexington, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police are conducting a death investigation in Madison County after KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Sergeant Michael Simpson stopped a vehicle for driving erratically on I-75 northbound at the 87.5 mile marker. He was assisted by KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Charles Tinsley. During the stop Officer Tinsley noticed a female passenger in the back seat who appeared to be unresponsive. Madison County EMS responded and upon further investigation she was found to be deceased. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Chasity Hall, age 31, of Mt. Sterling, Ky. She has been charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st, Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Operating on a Suspended Operators License 2nd Offense, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Hall was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center. A third passenger was present, but was not charged. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by Madison County Deputy Coroner Carlos Coyle. The death is being investigated as a possible overdose by KSP Detective Chris Short. The victim is identified as Lisa Rogers, age 42 of Mt. Sterling, Ky.
