Suspect wanted in seven central Kentucky Counties has been arrested

(Lexington, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police has arrested a Lancaster man who is wanted on outstanding warrants in seven Central Kentucky counties. Paul David Brown, age 31 of Lancaster, was taken into custody last night at 10:15 p.m., at the Speedway store located at the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Larkin Road in Lexington. The Kentucky State Police in the ongoing investigation, received information that Mr. Brown was staying in the Lexington area. Acting on that information, the KSP and the US Marshall's Office set up surveillance at several locations in Lexington in an attempt to apprehend him. In the course of the surveillance, several officers of the KSP Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Branch followed a known acquaintance of Brown to the Speedway store. Upon arriving at the Speedway, the surveillance officers immediately spotted Mr. Brown in the parking lot. Mr. Brown was taken into custody after a short scuffle with arresting officers. Mr. Brown was charged with resisting arrest and numerous arrest warrants were served upon him. Mr. Brown is also a suspect in several vehicle thefts and burglaries in the Central Kentucky area, and has eluded authorities for several weeks. Mr. Brown was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center. The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Police also assisted in the arrest of Mr. Brown.
