Fatal collision on US 68 in Bourbon County

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police Post 6 in Dry Ridge is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on US 68 at approximately 9:46pm on May 3, 2011 in the city limits of Paris, KY. Brenda Stamper, 59, of Paris, KY was operating a 1989 Ford Pickup when she initially stuck a properly parked and unattended 1999 Pontiac 4 door in the parking lot of the Williamsburg Terrace Apartments. After this initial crash Stamper continued out onto US 68 headed west. While headed west Stamperís vehicle crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and struck a 2006 Honda Pickup, driven by Michael Storie, 31, of Ewing, KY, head on. Brenda Stamper was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bourbon County Deputy Coroner Terry Pollitt. Michael Storie was transported to the Bourbon County Community Hospital for his injuries. The crash remains under investigation by Trooper David Holland.
