Shooting Investigation in Trimble County

(Bedford, Ky.) -- KSP detectives are investigating a shooting that took place at a Trimble County home last night (12/10) just before midnight near the community of Bedford. Dispatchers from Post 5 received 9-1-1 calls at 11:24 p.m. reporting that a man had been shot at 617 Harley Lane stemming from an earlier argument between two men.
Upon arrival, Troopers discovered where Timothy Kurtz, 29 years old of Ghent, had been shot in the abdominal area. Preliminary information indicates that Kurtz went to the home of 26 year old Henry Toppett IV located at 617 Harley lane, and was subsequently shot by Toppett for reasons undetermined at this time.
Kurtz was flown by Air Methods, Inc. to the University of Louisville hospital and is considered to have non-life threatening injuries.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Detective Kevin Johnson. The Trimble County Sheriff's office and the Trimble County EMS assisted Detective Johnson at the scene.
