Home Invasion Arrest in Trimble County
Date of News Release: 12/05/2011
(Milton, Ky.) -- On Sunday, December 4, 2011at 11:56 P.M. the Kentucky State Police, Post 5 Campbellsburg received a 911 call from a residence just south of the city of Milton located in Trimble County. The male caller advised he was awakened by his residential intrusion alarm and then searched his house to see if anyone else was inside. He found two unknown subjects in his residence and forced both outside, then called 911 for assistance. While troopers were en-route to the residence the pair attempted to steal his vehicle which was parked in the driveway. The homeowner exited his residence and stopped the theft by ordering the suspects to the ground at gunpoint. He then detained both suspects until troopers arrived.
During the investigation it was determined that both subjects had been involved in a vehicle theft earlier that evening in Jefferson County, Indiana and were also involved in a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Madison, Indiana Police Department. That pursuit ended when the suspects crossed into Kentucky. The original stolen vehicle was later recovered by Troopers from KSP in Trimble County.
Arrested was Ms. Rhea M. Easley, 26, from Madison, Indiana and Joshua S. Mitchell, 30, from Bedford, Kentucky. Both were charged with Burglary 2nd; receiving stolen property under $10,000; Attempting Theft by Unlawful Taking-Auto; and Public Intoxication. They were lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center. Case is under investigation by Tpr. Joshua Noble.
