Two Henry County Women Arrested for Prescription Fraud

Date of News Release: 08/12/2011

(New Castle, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police (Post 5) has concluded a lengthy investigation of employees at a pharmacy and a doctor's office resulting in the arrests of two New Castle women for prescription controlled substance crimes.

An investigation beginning in November 2010 and lasting through July, 2011, revealed that Jessica Tuggle Dale used her position as a receptionist at the Henry County Medical Center to obtain and forge prescriptions in her name for controlled substances. Fleicia Smith was discovered acting as an accomplice as she used her position as a pharmacy technician at Cooks Pharmacy in New Castle to fill prescriptions fraudulently. Fleicia Smith filled the forged prescriptions and then destroyed payment records so that Jessica Tuggle Dale did not have to pay for the pills.

Fleicia Smith, 46 years old, was indicted by a Henry County Grand Jury on August 11, 2011 for: Trafficking a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Trafficking a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, and Failing to Maintain Pharmacy Records.

Jessica Tuggle Dale, 29 years old, was indicted by a Henry County Grand Jury on August 11, 2011 for: Trafficking a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Trafficking a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, and Forgery of a Prescription.

KSP Street Level Narcotics detectives are conducting the ongoing investigation.
