Two Owenton men charged with bank robbery

(Owenton, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police (Post 5) and the FBI (Louisville Field Office) have recently concluded a joint investigation resulting in the arrest of two Owen County men for a 2010 bank robbery. Investigators determined through investigation that Edward Cook and Bryan Kelly, both of Owenton, were apparently responsible for the robbery of First Farmers Bank, located in the small Southwest Owen County town of Gratz. Both men were located and arrested today at 10:30 a.m. resulting from the joint efforts of multiple agencies.

Cook and Kelly were transported to the Lexington/Fayette Detention facility where they are held on federal bank robbery charges. The following agencies were involved during the arrests of Cook and Kelly: Owenton Police department, Owen County Sheriff's office, and the FBI.
