Injury Collision on Western Kentucky Parkway (MM 119)

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - On Monday December 26 at approximately 5:19 pm ET, Post 4, Elizabethtown received a call of a single vehicle injury accident at the 119 mile marker in Grayson County.

Upon investigation Tpr. Brad Riley discovered that Unit 1, a silver 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup, driven by 26 year old Christopher R. Hamm from Clarksville, TN, was eastbound on the Western KY Parkway. Mr. Hamm stated that he fell asleep at the wheel and drifted into the median and partially into the westbound lanes. Mr. Hamm over corrected and swerved back into the median and struck a concrete culvert. Mr. Hamm's vehicle rotated clockwise and overturned several times and came to final rest in the median. A passenger in the Tacoma, 18 year old Jamee J. Barren from Clarksville, TN suffered Class B injuries (possible broken neck)and was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville. The driver was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital as he was treated and released with Class C (minor) injuries. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelt. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Also responding to scene were the Hardin County EMS, Grayson County EMS, Grayson County Sheriff's Office, Clarkson Fire Department, and the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.
