Arrest Made in a Michigan Cold Case Investigation

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) –- On June 8, 2011, Kentucky State Police Post 4 was contacted by Investigators from the Michigan State Police Post in Alpena, MI in reference to a 2004 cold case Armed Robbery. They had developed a suspect who implicated another individual in the crime. That individual currently resided in Kentucky. Michigan Investigators requested the assistance of the Kentucky State Police in locating and interviewing the suspect.
The suspect, who was a juvenile at the time of the offense, was located and interviewed. Subsequent to a confession to his role in the crime, Michigan State Police obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. The suspect was arrested by the Kentucky State Police on December 2, 2011, and lodged in the Bullitt County Jail.
On December 9, 2011, Investigators from the Michigan State Police traveled to Kentucky to extradite the suspect back to Alpena, Michigan to face charges of Armed Robbery.
The case was being investigated by Trooper Ed Adamiak of the Michigan State Police, Post 74 in Alpena, Michigan.
