Injury collision on KY1192

Date of News Release: 12/04/2011

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - On December 4th a 1996 GMC pickup driven by Lucas H Carman (age 21 of Buffalo, KY) was traveling west on KY1192, approximately 4 miles east of Mt Sherman, when it dropped off of the left shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Carman over corrected and the vehicle left the roadway on the right side causing it to overturn. Mr. Carman was ejected from the vehicle and suffered life threatening injuries. He was transported to the Hardin Memorial Hospital by the Larue County EMS. The passenger, Steven C. Wallace (age 19 from Elizabethtown, KY), suffered minor injuries and was also transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by the Larue County EMS. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol does appear to be a contributing factor to the crash. Sgt. Jamie Heller with the KSP is investigating the crash.
