Injury collision on KY 86 in Breckinridge County

Date of News Release: 12/02/2011

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - A 2004 Kia Sportage driven by 64 year old Linda S. Griffin from Irvington, KY was westbound on KY 86 when the Kia left the right side of the roadway. Ms. Griffin over corrected and lost control of her vehicle. She left the roadway on the westbound side and struck a drainage tile/culvert. The Kia went airborne and overturned several times down an embankment. The Kia came to final rest several feet off the roadway facing southeast.

Ms. Griffin was cited for No Insurance, No/Expired Registration Plates, No/Expired Registration Receipt, and Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle.

Ms. Griffin was transported from the scene by the Breckinridge County EMS to a landing zone where she was transported to U of L Hospital by Air Methods. As of the time this release was sent Ms. Griffin was listed in critical condition. Tpr. Justin Spears is the investigating officer. He was assisted at the scene by Breckinridge County EMS and Breckinridge County Fire and Rescue.
