Date of News Release: 11/29/2011

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police at Post 04 in Elizabethtown is accepting donations of canned and non-perishable food items for its second annual "Cram The Cruiser" food drive through Dec. 12. Our Agency hopes to collect a state police cruiser full of food at our Post in Elizabethtown, located on North Mulberry near the I-65 southbound on ramp, and at each of our 16 posts throughout the state. The food will be distributed to local shelters, churches or other organizations serving those in need during the holiday season. Suggested donations include canned fruit and vegetables, canned meat, macaroni and cheese, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, chili or spaghetti sauce, brownie and cake mixes, coffee, powdered milk and juices. Last year KSP collected 21,586 pounds of food. Visit the KSP website at kentuckystatepolice.org for a listing of the post locations.
