Update on the Larue County shooting

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) –- State Police Detectives can confirm that Steve Bottoms' cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. Barbara Walker died from gunshot wounds to the chest and torso. We can also confirm that those deaths were ruled as homicides which were caused by David Walker. David Walker's cause of death was a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Our investigation is ongoing and the details of how this shooting unfolded will not be known for certain until all forensics and final autopsy reports are made available to us.

Larue County shooting
Date of News Release: 11/22/2011
(Elizabethtown, Ky.) –- KSP Post 04 responded to Heying Lane in Larue County earlier today (11/22/11). Upon arrival Troopers discovered 3 individuals deceased. They were 51 year old Barbara Walker from Elizabethtown, KY, 51 year old David Walker from Elizabethtown, KY, 55 year old Steve L. Bottoms from Radcliff, KY. Also shot was 32 year old April M. Roberts from Elizabethtown, KY. She was transported to Uof L Hospital with gunshot wounds to her lower extremities. She is expected to be released from the hospital tomorrow, November 23, 2011. An autopsies is being performed and the forensics has to be completed. Autopsies on all 3 victims are expected to be performed tomorrow (11/23/11). We are confident that all subjects involved in this shooting are either deceased or injured and the public is in no danger related to this incident. KSP can report that this shooting arose from a domestic violence incident. Also, KSP have responded to calls within the past two weeks involving the Walkers. The Walkers were married and April Roberts was their daughter. Detective Jon Vaughn is the lead Detective and is assisted by other Post 4 Detectives and Troopers. We were also assisted by the Larue County Sheriffs Department, the Larue County Coroner's Office, and the Hardin and Larue County EMS. The investigation is ongoing.
