Hardin County escapees

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - On Sunday November 20, 2011 at approximately 2:00 am ET two inmates from the Hardin County Detention Center were reported as absent during a head count by jail deputies. They escaped by walking out while jail deputies were making their rounds. It appeared that the two inmates were able to dig a hole in the corner of the fence and crawl under it. Their direction of travel is unknown, however, the investigation is ongoing and we are following up on leads.

The first inmate is LONNIE RAY COY, 43 YEARS OF AGE WHITE MALE. HE IS APPROXIMATELY 6 FEET TALL AND 195 POUNDS. HE WAS LAST SEEN WEARING CAMMO PANTS, A BLACK T-SHIRT AND WHITE LONG JOHN TOP. Coy was serving time for Parole Violations and Flagrant Non-Support with pending charges in other counties. Lonnie Coy is from Shepherdsville, KY.

The second inmate is JOSHUA NUNN, 19 YEARS OF AGE WHITE MALE, SHAVED HEAD, BROWN EYES, 170 POUNDS, 5 FEET 11 INCHES. Nunn was serving time for Manufacturing Meth with Possession of a Handgun. Joshua Nunn is from Edmonton, KY.

It appears that both suspects walked out the front door of the facility at 11:17 pm. The Kentucky State Police is spearheading the investigation. Tpr. Josh Cummings is the investigating officer.
