Credit Card Theft Investigation in Hardin County

Date of News Release: 09/14/2011

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On September 7, 2011 at approximately 1238 hours, an unknown black male and unknown black female were able to circumvent security measures at North Hardin Christian School in Radcliff and enter the premises without permission. While inside, the unknown suspects took credit cards from a purse in an unoccupied classroom.

After leaving the school 6 minutes later, the suspects took the cards to stores in Elizabethtown, including Wal-mart, Target, Home Depot, and a Speedway gas station, and used the cards to purchase several items, including a new iPad 2 and gift cards. The unknown suspects were seen in what appears to be a 2008-2009 White Dodge Avenger.

Working with Loss Prevention agents at the respective merchants, the gift cards were tracked and used later that same night in Nashville, TN at two different Wal-marts and a Sam's Club. At those locations, the same unknown black female from the heist in Kentucky is seen shopping with another unknown black female at the stores.

Officials from the North Hardin Christian School have met with the Kentucky State Police and have revised their already stringent security measures.

Anyone who has information on the case is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown.
