Two Escapees from the Bell County Forestry Camp Apprehended

Date of News Release: 09/12/2011

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On Sunday September 11, 2011 at approximately 11:30 pm, Post 10-Harlan requested that Post 4 units be on the lookout for two escapees from the Bell County Forestry Camp. Jonah Robey and Jordan Pannell had allegedly stolen a red Corvette from the Harlan post area and were believed to be in the Sonora area of Hardin County. Post 4 Units patrolled the area in an attempt to locate the suspects. Sgt. Longacre spotted the suspect vehicle driving without the headlights on and initiated a traffic stop. Upon activation of his blue lights the suspects fled in the vehicle. The suspects drove through yards and driveways and continued west on Silvermine Road. After an approximate 4 mile pursuit the suspects lost control of the Corvette and slid into a ditch-line on Melrose Road. Both suspects were arrested and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. There was also possible evidence from a burglary from the Harlan State Police post area discovered inside the Corvette.
