Felony arrest in Hardin County

Date of News Release: 08/19/2011

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On Thursday August 18, 2011 at approximately 1434 hours ET KSP Det. Jeremy Mabe arrested 45 year old David B. Dunnivant of Elizabethtown, KY. He was charged with Rape 1st, Incest, and Possession of Marijuana. These charges stem from a phone call we received from Hardin Memorial Hospital stating that they had a female there claiming she had been raped. Det. Mabe initiated an investigation and as a result led him to charge Dunnivant with the listed charges.

According to Det. Mabe, the victim reported that it was a forcible rape. It was also discovered that Dunnivant lived within a few feet of Lincoln Trail Elementary School. It should also be noted that Dunnivant is a move-in registered sex offender from the state of Michigan. He moved to Kentucky in 2005. The law that requires registered sex offenders to live at least 1,000 feet from a school did not go into effect until July of 2006. He did not fall under that law because he was convicted before that date.
