Injury collision on KY 1600 in Hardin County

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On August 11, 2011 at 10:15 hours Kentucky State Police responded to a report of an injury accident on KY1600 just North of KY391. Unit 1, a 2008 Pontiac G6 operated by 25 year old Erika Jackson, from Brandenburg, KY was traveling north on KY1600. For unknown reasons she crossed the center line and struck Unit 2, an 18 foot dual axle trailer pulled by a 2002 Toyota pickup truck, operated by 50 year old Daniel Ashton, from Vine Grove, KY. After impact with the trailer Unit 1 rotated and struck Unit 3, a 2007 GMC Acadia, operated by 29 year old Amanda Brown, from Vine Grove, KY. After impact with Unit 3, Unit 1 rotated again and slid several feet off the West side of the road. Unit 3 also slid off the West side of the road, down an embankment and overturned ejecting the operator. Both operator of Unit 1 and Unit 3 were air lifted to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Methods with serious but non life threatening injuries. Operator of Unit 2 was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS with minor injuries.
