Update and additional charges on Felony Arrest of Chad Meadows

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - On June 22, 2011, additional charges were filed on Chad Meadows. He was charged in Jefferson County with 2 counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree and one count of Sodomy 1st Degree. Additional charges in Meade County will be considered by the Meade County Grand Jury.

During the investigation, another female victim came forward who stated that during the period of time between July 2010 and April 2011 she had been victimized. The second victim was not a student of Mr. Meadows and was 13 at the time of the first offense.

Mr. Meadows is still currently lodged in the Meade County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Det. Jonathan Vaughn with the Kentucky State Police Post 4 at 270-766-5078.

Vine Grove Elementary School teacher accused of propositioning 13-year-old girl

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) - On June 6, 2011 at approximately 13:51 hrs, KSP Post 4 Detective Jonathan Vaughn arrested Chad Meadows, 36, of Flaherty, Ky., charging him with one count of Unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities. He has been lodged in the Meade County Detention Center.

On June 1, 2011, Mr. Meadows engaged in a chat on Facebook with a 13 year old female at which time he propositioned the juvenile to engage in sexual activity. Mr. Meadows had been a teacher at Vine Grove Elementary School. At this time, it does not appear that any students were involved.

The investigation is on going and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jonathan Vaughn with the KSP Post 4 at 270-766-5078.
