KSP and Local Area Law Enforcement Participate In DEA's Take Back Initiative

Date of News Release: 10/31/2011

(Bowling Green, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green, Warren County Drug Task Force, Bowling Green Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff's Office participated in the Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative sponsored by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration on Saturday, October 29, 2011. At the end of the day, a total of 124 lbs of Prescription Drugs were turned into law enforcement at four different drop-off locations.

"This is an overwhelming turnout by the community to keep unused, legal, and potential deadly medications out of the hands of people who seek to abuse them. It is also an environmentally safe way of destroying these unused prescriptions," commented Captain Ricki Allen, Commander Post 3 Bowling Green.
