KSP Post 3 Citizens Police Academy

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green is now accepting applications for the 2011 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin September 13 and conclude November 22. There will be a graduation ceremony in December.

Students will meet on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m.along with two optional Saturdays where they will receive a hands on perspective on the job as a Kentucky State Trooper including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. They will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection. "This is an opportunity for the community to learn about the many different aspects of the Kentucky State Police." commented Lt. John Clark.

The academy will be held at Warren County Extension Office located at 3132 Nashville Road in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Applications can be obtained at the Kentucky State Police Post 3 or by contacting Post 3 at (270) 782-2010.

Anyone 18 years of age or older living within the Kentucky State Police Post 3 District is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend. All applicants will be subject to a background check.
