Two killed in a single vehicle collision on KY 234

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- On Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 7:05AM, Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green, responded to the 5400 block of KY 234 (Cemetery Road) in Warren County, Kentucky regarding a double fatality collision.
According to Master Trooper Terry Alexander, a 2003 four-door Chevy Sedan operated by Richard Page (18) of Bowling Green, Kentucky was traveling west on KY 234 when he failed to negotiate a curve leaving the right hand side of the roadway. The vehicle then impacted a tree before igniting into flames. The fire was contained to the engine compartment of the vehicle and was extinguished by a witness on the scene.
Richard Page and his passenger, William Mallory (19) of LaCenter, Kentucky, were pronounced dead on scene by the Warren County Coroner's Office. The occupants of the vehicle were both wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
Master Trooper Terry Alexander is investigating the collision and stated that, "excessive speed was a contributing factor in the collision." Assisting Master Trooper Alexander on scene was Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Sergeant Kelly Anderson, Bowling Green Police Department, Bowling Green Fire Department Alvaton Fire Department, and the Warren County Coroner's office.
