Butler County shooting investigation

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- On Sunday, July 3, 2011, at 12:03 a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to 2157 Orange Cemetery Road, Morgantown, Kentucky. KSP Post 3 received a call from the Butler County Sheriff's Office requesting assistance with a shooting complaint.

When KSP personnel arrived, they discovered that Jennifer Forsythe had shot her husband, Bobby Forsythe in the upper left thigh. It was also discovered that a round struck the couples five- year-old child in the thigh.

The Butler County Commonwealth Attorney's office was contacted and no arrest has been made at this time.

Mr. Forsythe was treated and released at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. The five-year-old child was treated and released from the Bowling Green Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Detective Scott Skaggs. No further information is being released at this time.
