Update to the Fatal Collision on US 231 in Butler County

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- After further investigation, it was determined that the decedent that was driving the 2000 Mercury Cougar was in possession of a fake identification card at the time of the collision. The real identify of the decedent is Sebastian Bartolo (49) of 129 Hobson Street, Morgantown, Kentucky.

Fatal Collision on US 231 in Butler County

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- On June 1, 2011, Kentucky State Police Post 3, Bowling Green, responded to a fatal collision on US 231 in Butler County, Kentucky. According to Trooper Jeremy Smith, Unit 1 a 2000 Mercury Cougar driven by Everardo Valenzuela (47) of Morgantown, Kentucky was traveling southbound on US 231. He then crossed into the Northbound lane into the path of Unit 2, a 2011 Ford F-250 driven by Braxton Broesamle (28) of Morgantown, Kentucky.
Braxton Broesamle attempted to avoid Everardo Valenzuela by crossing into the southbound lane of US 231 when Everardo Valenzuela attempted to cross back into the southbound lane and collided with Braxton Broesamle"s vehicle.
Everardo Valenzuela was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Butler County Coroner. Everardo Valenzuela's passenger was transported by EMS to the Bowling Green Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition. Braxton Broesamle and passenger of Unit 2 refused medical treatment at the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing and is being lead by Trooper Jeremy Smith.
