Subject of AMBER Alert Apprehended in Warren County, Kentucky

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- On Thursday May 12, 2011 at 9:45 a.m. CDT, Kentucky State Police Post 3, Bowling Green, received a telephone call from a motorist on Interstate 65 in Warren County, Kentucky. The motorist observed the suspect vehicle and recognized it from an Amber Alert broadcast he had heard on the radio earlier.
The Amber Alert was initiated by the Chipley Police Department in Florida. Kentucky State Police Troopers responded and located the vehicle that was described in the AMBER Alert in Smiths Grove, Kentucky. William Anthony Snipes age 36 of Ozark, AL was taken into custody at 10:35 a.m. William Snipes was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Fugitive from Another State. William Snipes was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
The minor child, and subject of the AMBER Alert, was located in the vehicle. He was unharmed and taken into protective custody.
The Kentucky State Police is working with Florida officials as their investigation continues.
