Injury collision on I-65 in Warren County

Date of News Release: 04/10/2011

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- On Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:57 A.M. , Kentucky State Police Bowling Green Post 3 was notified of an injury collision on I 65 north of Smiths Grove. A 1996 Toyota Camry driven by Raesha Hemmersbach, age 20, of Owensboro was traveling south on I 65 when she lost control of her vehicle, while trying to avoid another vehicle that crossed into her lane of travel. The 1996 Toyota Camry left the highway and struck an earth embankment, which caused the vehicle to go airborne and flip twice before landing on it's roof. Raesha Hemmersbach was ejected and was not wearing her seatbelt. She was transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green and later transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN, where she was treated and released. The collision was investigated by Trooper Wayne Mayfield.
