Methamphetamine Arrest in Simpson County

Date of News Release: 03/15/2011

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police, Post 3 Troopers responded to a drug complaint located at 1247 Drake Road in Simpson County, Kentucky. During the course of the investigation, information was obtained and a search warrant was issued and executed at the residence of Jeff Bailey at 1247 Drake Road, Franklin, Kentucky. During the search of the residence, Kentucky State Police Troopers found an active clandestine lab, anhydrous ammonia tanks, drug paraphernalia, several components used to manufacture methamphetamine, and finished product of suspected methamphetamine.

Arrested on scene was Jeffrey Bailey age 43, of Franklin, Kentucky, Jamie M. Smith age 28, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Frank V. Jackson age 42, of Franklin, Kentucky.

Jeffrey Bailey was charged with the following charges:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st
  2. Knowing Possess anhydrous ammonia in other than approved container with the intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine 1st
  3. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st
  4. Unlawful possession of Methamphetamine Precursor 1st

Jamie Smith was charged with the following charges:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st
  2. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st

Frank Jackson was charged with the following charges:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st
  2. Knowing Possess anhydrous ammonia in other than approved container with the intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine 1st
  3. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st
  4. Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor 1st
  5. Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (Hydrocodone)
  6. Prescription Controlled Substance not in original container 1st

All three subjects were lodged in the Simpson County Jail. The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Trooper David Hall.
