Shooting investigation in Barren County

Date of News Release: 02/25/2011

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- On Friday, February 25, 2011, the Kentucky State Police was called by the Barren County Sheriff's Department regarding a shooting that occurred at 117 Jackson Trail, Glasgow, Kentucky. Upon Troopers and Detectives arrival, the victim, Brian England, a 33 year old white male was discovered deceased in the driveway at the above location of an apparent gunshot wound. No arrest has been made at this time. An autopsy will be performed in Louisville, Kentucky. The investigation is still ongoing. The investigation is be conducted by Detective Chad Winn and is being assisted by the Barren County Sheriff's Department.

At this time, the Kentucky State Police is releasing the name of the shooter involved in the investigation. The shooter has been identified as Ricky L. Elmore of Glasgow, KY. The victim, Brian England, was pronounced dead by Barren County Coroner Mike Swift at 11:35 pm (CST) on February 25, 2011. The Barren County Commonwealth Attorney, Karen Davis, was notified and was on scene during the investigation. This investigation will be presented to the Barren County Grand Jury. The investigation is still ongoing.
