Injury Collision on US 431 in Muhlenberg County

Date of News Release: 12/27/2011

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- David Brooks, age 31 of Central City, KY, was operating a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck southbound on US 431 in Browder when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The truck exited the right shoulder of the roadway and struck an earth embankment. The truck overturned and crossed both lanes of travel. It exited the left shoulder of the roadway and traveled down an embankment where it came to rest upright. Mr. Brooks and his passenger, Makayla Wilson, age 11 of Central City, KY, were transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Both subjects were wearing seatbelts. Trooper Craig Engler investigated the crash that occurred on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at approximately 11:46 a.m. The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department, Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
