(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Tuesday, December 6, 2011, the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville held its graduation for the third KSP Post 2 Citizens Police Academy at the Hopkinsville Community College. Captain William Marks Jr., Commander of Post 2 Madisonville, was on hand to present the participants with their graduation certificates.

The 10-week academy began on October 4 and concluded with its graduation on December 6. During the course of the academy, the twenty (20) participants learned about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, traffic stops, collision investigations, commercial vehicle enforcement, criminal investigations, drug investigations, dispatching, the legal process, special operations, and Trooper Island. Participants also took part in simulated traffic stops and a mock crime scene. The class was treated to a tour of the Western Laboratory and the Madisonville Post. The class met on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Hopkinsville Community College.
