Three vehicle injury collision on KY 70

Central City, KY. (Muhlenberg County) -- The Kentucky State Police investigated a three vehicle injury collision on KY 70 approximately 1 1/2 miles west of Central City.
Patricia Hall, age 69 of Central City, KY, was operating a 2004 Subaru Outback westbound on KY 70. Michael Dukes, age 36 of Central City, KY was operating a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro westbound on KY 70 traveling behind Ms. Hall. Roy Mercer, age 54 of Graham, KY, was operating a 2007 Mack Tractor Trailer westbound on KY 70 traveling behind the other two vehicles.
Ms. Hall was attempting to make a left turn into a private driveway. Mr. Dukes stopped behind her. Mr. Mercer could not stop in time and his vehicle struck Mr. Dukes' vehicle in the rear which caused Mr. Dukes' vehicle to strike Ms. Hall's vehicle. Ms. Hall's vehicle came to rest in the westbound lane. Mr. Dukes' vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a fence before coming to rest. Mr. Mercer's vehicle came to rest partially in the westbound lane.
Mr. Dukes was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported. All subjects were wearing seatbelts.
Trooper Nathan Craft investigated the crash that occurred on Tuesday, December 06, 2011 at approximately 7:27 a.m. Trooper Craig Engler, the Central City Police Department, Central City Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
