Non-Injury Crash Involving DUI

(Madisonville, KY) -- Muhlenberg County Deputy Sheriff Patrick Putnam, age 40 of Greenville, KY, was on patrol in a 2008 Dodge Charger traveling northbound on North 2nd Street when a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Rickey L. Bishop, age 52 of Drakesboro, KY, failed to yield the right of way and turned left onto North 2nd Street from the Old National Bank entrance in front of Deputy Putnam. The two vehicles collided. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. No injuries were reported. Trooper Jerry Knight arrested Mr. Bishop and charged him with DUI 1st Offense. He was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
