Felony Drug Arrest in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 11/09/2011

(Hopkins County) -- On November 9, 2011, at 12:04 A.M., Trooper Jon McGehee conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street in Madisonville that lead to the arrest of Jeremiah D Chapman, age 28, of Madisonville. During their investigation Troopers determined that Mr. Chapman was under the influence and was placed under arrest. Further investigation revealed a firearm, suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia including items used in the distribution process of controlled substances. Chapman was also arrested for local arrest warrants. Chapman was lodged at the Hopkins County Detention Center for the following charges:

  1. Excessive Window Tinting
  2. Failure to Produce Insurance Card
  3. Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation
  4. No Registration Receipt
  5. Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 1st Offense
  6. Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  7. Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Meth)
  8. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
