Fatal Accident on US 41 in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- A 1999 GMC Yukon, driven by Carolyn H. Hunt, was traveling southbound on US 41, approximately three miles south of Nortonville in Hopkins County. Joy Ray Browning and a 15-year old juvenile were walking beside a horse that was occupied by a 13-year old juvenile. The vehicle collided with the horse and the three subjects in the southbound lane of travel. Mrs. Hunt and her 12-year old passenger were not injured as a result of the collision. Mr. Browning was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Wayne Burton. Both juveniles were transported to the Regional Medical Center by the Medical Center Ambulance Service.
