Injury Collision on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Kasey L. Starkey, age 30 of Evansville, IN, was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway at approximately the 61 mile-marker when her vehicle dropped off the left edge of the roadway. Ms. Starkey overcorrected causing the vehicle to spin on the roadway. The vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and struck a dirt embankment. The vehicle traveled up the embankment approximately 15 feet before losing momentum and sliding back down into the ditch. It came to rest in the ditch. Ms. Starkey and her passengers, Abigail Hall, age 10 of Evansville, IN, and Ashlyn Hall, age 10 of Evansville, IN, were transported via ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for observation. All were wearing seatbelts. Trooper First Class John Komar investigated the crash that occurred on Tuesday, September 06, 2011 at approximately 6:25 a.m. Sebree Fire & Rescue and Webster County EMS assisted at the scene.
