Injury Collision Involving Motorcycle

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- William Braden, age 32 of Clay, KY, was operating a 2005 Chrysler 300 eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway. Jerry W. Rolley Jr., age 40 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway traveling behind Mr. Braden's vehicle. Several vehicles traveling eastbound in front of Mr. Braden and Mr. Rolley came to an abrupt stop due to a subject making an illegal u-turn on the parkway. Mr. Braden was able to stop; however, Mr. Rolley was unable to stop in time and the motorcycle clipped the rear of Mr. Braden's vehicle. Mr. Rolley lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle. Mr. Rolley, who was not wearing a helmet, was flown from the scene to St. Mary's in Evansville, IN for treatment. Mr. Braden and his passenger, Matt Foster, age 29 of Marion, KY, were both wearing seatbelts and were not injured. Sergeant Matt Jordan investigated the crash that occurred on Monday, August 15, 2011 at approximately 9:15 a.m. Trooper Nick Rice, Trooper Scotty Sharp, Detective Lloyd Ray, Nortonville Southside EMS, South Hopkins Fire Department, Medical Center Ambulance Service, and PHI Air Medical assisted at the scene.
