One injured in a single vehicle collision on US 62

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Carla Detalente, age 39 of Dawson Springs, KY, was operating a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am westbound on US 62 (Nortonville Road) approximately 3 miles east of Dawson Springs when her vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. Ms. Detalente overcorrected and crossed both lanes of the roadway before exiting off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a utility pole and rolled onto its passenger side before striking a house in the 10000 block of Nortonville Road. The vehicle came to rest on its passenger side against the house. Ms. Detalente, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported via ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were reported. Trooper First Class John Komar investigated the crash that occurred on Monday, July 25, 2011 at approximately 3:30 p.m. The Dawson Springs Police Department, St. Charles Volunteer Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
